Coordinating Board for Early Childhood
The Missouri Coordinating Board for Early Childhood is the state’s public/private entity for coordinating a cohesive system of early childhood programs and services intended to support the healthy development and school readiness of all Missouri children from birth through age five.
The CBEC will function as Missouri’s State Advisory Council on Early Childhood Care and Education under the federal Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007, Public Law 110-134, and is pursuing American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to extend its work in early childhood policy coordination across state agencies.
Members of the CBEC are gubernatorial appointments with Senate approval. RSMo 210.102.2 describes the CBEC’s responsibilities)
