Remembering That Deterrence Is Prevention: The Professional Investigation of Child Abuse

On October 7 and 8, 2008, the State Technical Assistance Team will host a two-day program specifically designed for those in the field of child abuse investigations. Topics covered will include: Investigation of Crimes Against Children, Dealing with the Unspeakable and Role of Medical Professionals in the Multidisciplinary Investigation of Child Abuse and Neglect.

The registration, training, 2 continental breakfasts, 2 lunches and breaks will be provided. We will not be responsible for lodging and travel expenses. The Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia, will hold a room block under "STAT", with room rates for King/Double Queen at $72 plus tax. The hotel cutoff date for the room block is September 8, 2008.

Certificates of attendance will be provided to all who successfully complete the two-day program. Department of Public Safety POST continuing education units will be provided to law enforcement and training credit to the Children's Division.
