FAMIS notifies the EU in writing of an approval by generating the FA-150 Action Notice and automatically mailing the notice. The FA-150 advises the EU of:
FAMIS sends the FA-151 Food Stamp Budget Summary, and the FA-543 or FA-544 Change Report form according to the type of reporting requirements to which the EU is subject.
FAMIS sends a notice of expiration if the EU is certified for one month only or if the EU is certified for two or three months in the month following the month of application.
FAMIS sends an FA-150 at rejection that notifies the EU of the following:
The EU may request a hearing due to the adverse action on the case. The hearing may be requested in person, in writing, or by telephone. (Refer to instructions for the Application for State Hearing.)
Forms can be viewed on the Document Queue (DOCQUE/FMVM) or Document History (DOCHST/FMVR) screens.
Each applicant has the right to withdraw the request for assistance at any time. If during the interview, it becomes clear that the applicant is ineligible on a specific requirement, discuss and fully explain the pertinent law or regulation and the right to appeal. Explain that verification of ineligibility is not required. This includes need when it is obvious that the applicant's statement regarding amount of income is sufficient to meet need.
Explain that the application is rejected immediately if the EU is ineligible. Refer to the Authorizing an Action user guide for instructions. If the applicant chooses, he/she may withdraw the request in writing. Reject the application on the basis of withdrawal, using the worker initiated rejection (WIRJ) action code and reason code VOW (voluntary withdrawal). Refer to the user guide Worker Initiated Rejection for instructions. Inform the applicant that a reapplication may be filed at any time.
Record the reason for the rejection on the Action Authorization (FM3H) screen.
