SUBJECT:
SUBJECT:
MEDICAL REVIEW TEAM SYSTEM CONVERSION TO FAMIS

DISCUSSION:

This memorandum is to inform staff of the conversion of the Legacy Medical Review Team (MRT) system into FAMIS. This conversion will take place over the weekend of October 10, 2009. Effective October 13, 2009:

The Disabled (FMMX or DISABLED) screen in FAMIS will not be updated when a decision is entered in the MRT system due to differences in program disability definitions. The eligibility specialist is responsible for updating information on the Disabled (FMMX or DISABLED) screen once MRT decision has been made.

At this time the TA Work Requirement (FM8B or COMPACT) screen will not be updated once a decision is entered in the MRT system. For active Temporary Assistance cases the eligibility specialist must review the TA Work Requirement (FM8B or COMPACT) screen once MRT decision has been made and make any appropriate updates.

Staff must use the new version of the IM-61 Social Information Summary that was introduced in IM Memorandum #76 dated 9/25/2009. The new IM-61 captures the eligibility specialist's FAMIS USERID which is required for MRT staff to enter the eligibility specialist for the case into the MRT system. If the FAMIS USERID or load number is not provided the eligibility specialist will not receive any MRT reminders for the case. Data will be entered using the County Manager's information and all MRT.

A USING MRT SCREENS guide developed and written by one of the Family Support Division (FSD) trainers is posted on the INTRANET for staff to access in the Inquiry Section of the FAMIS User Guides. Refer to the guide for more information on accessing and using MRT screens.

The attached guide is only a guide to help staff maneuver through the new MRT system. A User Guide for the eligibility use of the MRT screens and how it will interact with FAMIS is being written and will be made available to staff.
