MEMORANDUM FOR RSB EXECUTIVE STAFF, DISTRICT SUPERVISORS, REHABILITATION COUNSELORS, AND REHABILITATION TEACHERS

 

FROM:  Sally Howard, Deputy Director

 

SUBJECT:  Establishing VR Eligibility

 

Staff have expressed concerns about getting to prior VR information on closed RSB cases.

 

Lillian says that central office does keep 911’s in a file here for four years. As the 911 does have medical information, you may be able to use it for eligibility.

 

We keep case files here for two years plus the current year.

 

Archives keeps case files an additional five years (or 7 years plus current year).

 

If the case is more than seven years plus old, we are out of luck.

 

Please let me know if you are not getting medical information with social security referrals. Specific examples help me to work with the DVR Social Security Determination unit to solve the problem.

 

Any questions, suggestions or comments on how to establish VR eligibility within 60 days, let us know!
