0105.025.15.05 Temporary Assistance Program Explanation

At the beginning of the interview, ask the applicant to explain his or her reason for being in the office, how he or she managed in the past, and his or her current situation.

During the interview explain the time limits for processing applications and the applicant's right to request an administrative review.

Discuss provisions of accepting Temporary Assistance (TA) cash benefits. During this discussion, explain the

Give copies of the following leaflets to each applicant:

  1. Time Clock, IM-4 Time Clock
  2. Hearings, IM-4 Hearing
  3. Child Support Enforcement, CS-1 "What's This About Child Support"
  4. Child Care, IM-4CC
  5. Direct Deposit, IM-4DD
  6. Electronic Benefit Transfer, IM-4EBT
  7. List of Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program locations for those in the household who are mandatory to participate with the work requirement.

Complete the following forms, at a minimum:

  1. Request For Direct Deposit, IM-20 if needed
  2. Referral for Social Security Number, SSN-1 if needed
  3. CS Referral/Information for Services, IM-2E Part 1 and 2 ,and the CS-201 if needed
  4. IMES Screen Employment Security Information
  5. Request for Information, FA-325 if needed, and
  6. Affidavit Acknowledging Paternity, VS 465, VS 465F, VS 465M and/or VS 465D, if needed.

Explain the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Resources
  2. SSN
  3. School Attendance
  4. Age
  5. Relationship of payee to child
  6. Residence
  7. Citizenship and alien status
  8. Child living in the home
  9. Immediate Engagement
  10. Assignment of Rights
  11. Deprived of parental support
  12. Cooperation in obtaining support
  13. Strikers
  14. Two Parent household
  15. Need
  16. Work Participation Requirement

If the applicant chooses not to accept Temporary Assistance cash benefits, explore eligibility for other programs.
