Biopsychosocial Treatment of Obesity

  •  correlate the obesity program with the SNAP benefits and the new Healthy SNAP initiative for healthier food options Governor's Executive Order 25-30
    • Launch date for Healthy SNAP is moved to February 17, 2027 but DSS already has a page for this that we could link to for updates.
    • Here is a link for SUN Bucks, to help with food over the summer. This is limited to summer months but would be good to have available as a resource.
  • Wash U and University of Missouri received funding from MHN to work with FQHC’s in Missouri to train prescribers in obesity treatment, we need to highlight this effort.
  • Presentation on our site for obesity treatment program from 2024 could be on this page. I think this needs some updating, I’m not sure if they require a prior auth anymore, but we’d need to check into that. Prior Auth requirements have been removed. We published this bulletin that summarized several policy changes that were included in a regulation amendment. https://mydss.mo.gov/media/pdf/upcoming-changes-biopsychosocial-treatment-obesity-services
  • GLP-1 medications we offer.
  • Behavioral Health Services Manual.docx manual
  • Healthy Weight Missouri trainings that Sarah Hampl and I did. You are welcome to post it on the MHN website.

  • This training is also available under a different course title (ABC Medical Provider training) for the PCPs that are part of the NIDDK project that DSS is supporting, and this project also includes additional monthly learning collaborative sessions to facilitate uptake of the training into their practices.
