What does Dual-Eligible mean?
Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans also known as D-SNP is a special type of Medicare Advantage Plan that provides health benefits to individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. D-SNP’s offer more coverage and benefits than original Medicare. If you receive both Medicare and Medicaid benefits, this means you are dual eligible.

Testing Federal Shutdown Impacts
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Due to the ongoing federal shutdown, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has informed all state agencies to temporarily suspend the issuance of SNAP benefits for November 2025 as they are 100% federally funded. As a result, DSS will not be able to distribute November SNAP benefits until further notice from FNS. This temporary suspension does not include any other changes.

The Division of Finance and Administrative Services provides budgeting, financial and support services to all agencies within the Department of Social Services. Offices are located in Jefferson City, St. Louis City, Kansas City, Springfield, St. Joseph and Poplar Bluff.
