MO HealthNet Notification of HIPAA Disclosure

Jefferson City, MO—Missouri Care, Inc., a MO HealthNet managed care plan, has notified 1,223 MO HealthNet (Medicaid) participants that some of their personal information was mailed to an incorrect address by one of its subcontractors, O'Neil Printing. The disclosure was caused by a software programming error.

No medical or financial information was released as a result of the inadvertent mailing. The type of information released potentially included participant name, date of birth, MO HealthNet identification account number (DCN), and Missouri Care member identification number.

The incident was discovered by Missouri Care on July 20, 2017. The software programming error impacted some of Missouri Care Managed Care Program correspondence sent on July 11, 2017 and July 13, 2017. O'Neil Printing has since identified and corrected the software error.
