The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists low-income households, particularly those with the lowest incomes that pay a high proportion of household income for home energy, in meeting their immediate home energy needs. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981, as amended, was included as part of the Coats Human Services Reauthorization Act of 1998, P. L. 105-285.

The public is invited to examine the FFY 2020 LIHEAP Draft Model State Plan. Written comments are welcome and will be accepted until August 6, 2019. The State of Missouri encourages comments to be submitted by email to Heather.Jones@dss.mo.gov. If access to the internet is unavailable, comments can be submitted by fax to (573) 522-9557, or mailed to Heather Jones, Department of Social Services, Family Support Division, LIHEAP Draft Model State Plan, P.O. Box 2320, Jefferson City, MO 65102, to be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 6, 2019.

A public hearing for the FFY 2020 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Draft Model State Plan is being held July 30, 2019, at Governor Office Building, 200 Madison, Room 316, Jefferson City, MO 65101 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

A draft version of the FFY 2020 LIHEAP Draft Model State Plan will be posted to the Missouri Department of Social Services’ website.
