The EHR Incentives Section of the MO HealthNet Division website has been updated to provide Medicaid providers and other stakeholders with the latest information and resources for the Medicaid EHR incentive program in Missouri.
The CMS final rule for 2015 – 2017 Modifications and Stage 3 Meaningful Use was released in October 2015 and became effective in December 2015.  This new rule consolidates Meaningful Use measures and outlines reporting requirements for Program Years 2015 – 2017, creating a transition to Stage 3 which starts in Program Year 2018.
As a reminder, the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program is in effect until 2021.

Important Dates

Missouri's State Level Registry (SLR) is open for Program Year 2015 attestations for Eligible Hospitals (EHs) only – the deadline has been extended to January 30, 2016.

The SLR remains open for Program Year 2016 attestations for Eligible Professionals (EPs) only through March 31, 2017.  On January 4, 2017 the SLR will accept applications for returning MU participants for Program Year 2016.  Applications for EPs attesting to either AIU (Adopt, Implement or Upgrade) or their first year of Meaningful Use (MU) will continue to be accepted.

CMS recently finalized a rule that changes the EHR reporting period to 90 days for Program Years 2016 and 2017 for all returning EPs and EHs that have previously demonstrated Meaningful Use in the Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs. The EHR reporting period will be any continuous 90-day period between January 1 and December 31 in Calendar Years 2016 and 2017.

Please note, Program Year 2016 is the last year that providers can begin participation in the Medicaid EHR incentives program.
