Financial Support

Adoption subsidy or subsidized guardianship is a collaborative agreement between the Children’s Division and the adoptive/guardianship family to help meet the needs of a child. Financial, medical, and support services may be available until the child is 18. Families receiving adoption subsidy may be able to extend services yearly until the child is 21 when there is a specific medical, mental health, or dental need.

This financial support is available to help meet the needs of a child who was in the custody of the Children's Division, Division of Youth Services, Department of Mental Health, or a licensed child placing agency. Children who have been adopted internationally or who have been adopted by a step-parent are not eligible for adoption subsidy.

To view payments please visit the Children's Division Caregiver Portal and create an account and login.
