State Technical Assistance Team
The mission of the State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) is to protect children and support agencies who protect Missouri children. To support this mission, STAT:
- Manages and supports the Missouri Child Fatality Review Program (CFRP), which serves as an administrative review of child deaths
- Helps with criminal investigations involving the death of a child or any crime against a child, such as child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, child exploitation and internet crimes
- Provides advanced high technology support and evidence recovery for all types of crimes against children
- Offers teaching, training and outreach to all members of the multidisciplinary teams who protect children
How STAT can help
STAT provides assistance to multidisciplinary teams and local law enforcement agencies in investigating and prosecuting child sexual abuse, child exploitation and internet crimes against children cases.
There are five agencies who can request assistance from STAT, which include:
- Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division
- Local, state or federal law enforcement
- Prosecutors
- Juvenile offices/family courts
- Coroners/medical examiners
